How to Trade on Gate DEX Polymarket (Web)

1. Connect Wallet

After entering the Gate DEX page, click [Connect Wallet] in the top right corner. Polymarket trading currently supports the following wallet types:

  • Gate Quick Wallet: Google, Gate authorization, email, etc.

  • EVM wallets, such as MetaMask, OKX Wallet, etc.

The following wallet types are not yet supported:

  • SVM wallets, such as Phantom

  • Agentic Wallet

After connecting your wallet, the system will guide you through generating an on-chain smart contract wallet dedicated to Polymarket trading. This wallet is used for subsequent deposits, trading, and claiming rewards. You may be asked to sign a wallet transaction during this process—signing does not directly transfer your assets out.

2. Deposit Funds

Once your wallet is connected, you'll need to deposit USDC to your trading address before you can participate in prediction market trading. You can choose from two deposit methods.

Method 1: Deposit from Connected Wallet (Default)

This is the default deposit method. The system automatically reads the on-chain assets currently held in your connected wallet.

Steps:

  1. Select the asset you want to deposit.

  2. Enter the deposit amount.

  3. Complete a signature confirmation in your wallet.

  4. Wait for the funds to arrive.

Notes:

  • The page displays the on-chain assets actually held in your wallet.

  • If gas on the current network is insufficient, the page will show "Insufficient gas on the current chain, please top up."

  • If the selected asset isn't on the current network, the system will guide you to switch to the correct network.

  • Once the deposit is complete, the funds will be credited to your Polymarket trading account for placing orders.

Method 2: Deposit Address

You can also use the system-generated dedicated deposit address to transfer assets in from another wallet or exchange.

Steps:

  1. Select the token and deposit network.

  2. The system generates a dedicated deposit address and QR code.

  3. Transfer assets to this address from another wallet or exchange.

  4. Once received, the system will automatically convert the funds to USDC and credit them to your account balance.

Notes:

  • This method involves initiating the transfer from an external wallet or exchange—it is not completed within the Polymarket page itself.

  • Different networks have different minimum deposit amounts, which will be shown on the page (e.g., Ethereum Min $10).

  • Do not transfer an amount below the minimum deposit threshold, as this may result in funds not being credited properly or being lost.

  • Please confirm that the token, network, and deposit address all match exactly before transferring.

3. Go to the DEX Polymarket Homepage

Once your deposit is complete, you can go to the DEX Polymarket homepage to browse tradable events. From the list view, you can see the event title, market status, current price/probability, liquidity, and other information, and select an event of interest to view its details.

4. Trade on the Details Page

After entering an event's details page, you can view the specific sub-markets under that event and trade based on your own judgment.

Before trading, we recommend reviewing: The event description and settlement rules; the current price/probability for each option; the historical probability trend chart; the event's end time; market liquidity.

The following order types are currently supported:

  • Market order: Executes immediately at the current market price.

  • Limit order: Set the price at which you're willing to buy or sell, and wait for the market to fill it.

Steps:

  1. Select the sub-market you want to trade.

  2. Choose your trading direction.

  3. Choose market or limit order.

  4. Enter the trade amount or quantity.

  5. Confirm the order details.

  6. Submit the trade, the current trading fee on this platform is 0 (Polymarket protocol fees are charged separately).

Please note that prediction market prices fluctuate with market conditions, and execution price, order status, and final returns may all be affected by market liquidity.

5. View Assets, Positions, and Claim Rewards

After trading, you can go to the [My Predictions] page to view your account assets, prediction market positions, order status, and trading history.

On the [My Predictions] page, you can view:

  • Current available balance

  • DEX Polymarket positions you currently hold

  • Current order status

  • Trading history

  • Claimable rewards

Each prediction event has a corresponding end time and settlement rules. Once the event has ended and the outcome has been confirmed, if your prediction was correct, you can claim the corresponding reward on this page.
